HUTTON’S OAKS DOMINATION

HUTTON’S OAKS DOMINATION

Ian Fortune

Bull Run Byte provided Kevin Hutton with his latest British Oaks success at Swindon on Saturday evening as she asserted at the opening turn to make every remaining yard.

Hutton won last year’s Oaks with Ravenswood Flo and this latest win was his third in total with Hutton winning the previous running of the bitch classic that was held at Swindon with Droopys Daneel in 2013.

Bull Run Byte was always perfectly positioned, holding a narrow advantage into the turn but she ran an exceptional turn to move almost four lengths clear into the back straight. Touchdown Erin did stay on well in second but Bull Run Byte ran out a thoroughly deserving winner by two and three quarters of a length in 28.29.

Of course, Bull Run Byte started her career at Kilkenny and isn’t the only classic winner to emerge from her family. The daughter of Mall Brandy and Tullowmac Java, who was bred by James Quinlan, is a half-sister to brilliant 2016 Leger winner Priceless Brandy.
