KYLIE LANDS SHELBOURNE FEATURE

Catunda Kylie took another step forward in her level of performance to capture the TIME Greyhound 28 A2 Bitch 525 at Shelbourne Park, claiming the €1,750 prize by some two and a half lengths in a rapid 28.42.

Michael Byrne’s progressive daughter of Ballymac Bolger and Murlens Maura shot from the outside trap to clock a slick 2.04 sectional. It was to prove decisive. Revilo Ruby emerged the greatest threat to the pace-setter but Catunda Kylie was always in control.

GORDEN SUPERFAST IN EARLY YARDS

Earlier on the card, both semi-finals of the Talking Dogs Open Unraced were won in terrific fashion.

The aptly named Superfast Gorden displayed fine immediate acceleration to set the standard in the second semi-final.

Trained by Pat Buckley for Eamonn Doyle and Mark Hatton, the son of Broadstrand Bono and former Oaks champion Jaytee Jordon was pressed hard by his kennel mate Unanimous Kai for much of the way, although the eye-caching Coss Tokyo flew home to grab second on the line, just a length behind Superfast Gorden who stopped the clock in 28.33.

HOPE IS BETTER THAN GOOD

Omuircheartaigh was the hot favourite for the opening heat but stumbled badly at boxes and was always towards the tail.

In contrast, Good Hope ran out a good winner for Paul Hennessy and owners Paul Byrne and Emmet Mullins.

The well-bred son of Grangeview Ten and Jaytee Osprey made a slick exit and was soon in front. Stefans Thunder pushed him from start to finish but there was no catching the pace-setter. Good Hope continued to repel his rival to the line to emerge a three parts of a length scorer in 28.49.
